"The soul is a bird."

I selected the bird and myself using mostly the magnetic lasso tool, then cut and pasted both images on to the sidewalk. Then, I colored the bird black, put it in overlay mode, put a Gaussian blur on it, and connected it to my shadow, before putting a displacement map on it. Then I added the text and applied the same displacement map.
